Mission

Our mission is to facilitate the discovery and the development of therapies to fight antimicrobial resistant organisms globally. The Foundation will foster collaborative efforts among industry, government and academia and will further patient advocacy.

We are motivated by the victims of antimicrobial drug resistance, and we are dedicated to ensuring that new drugs are affordable, adopted and accessible to everyone who needs them. FCAR is a non-profit product development partnership to facilitate global research, development for and access to new antimicrobial agents.

Before FCAR was established there was no global coordinated effort to develop novel antimicrobials. We will work with regulatory agencies, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, university and private researchers to advance an effective portfolio of antimicrobial drug candidates. The products have to reach those who need them so we will work with partners globally to make possible regulatory approval, adoption and accessibility of new therapies.
